What is the distance between reality and consciousness?
For example, someone (let's say me) turns thirty. On the day of my birthday I do not feel any different from the previous or the next day. However, I am thirty. This is a fact. The conscious realisation of the fact within my mind will follow.
I think I am now beginning to realise a change. Yet it is only the realisation of a fact (someones is thirty years old. So what?). I haven't been able to understand the whole distance I have travelled the last ten years.
It seems like yesterday when a friend of mine was asking me 'how does it feel to be twenty?' And three days ago the same friend asked me 'how does it feel to be thirty?'
It seems that I am now beginning to understand how it feels to be twenty...
